Azzuri started the tournament with a bang winning against the defensive minded Avanza 4 - 3 after falling behind early in the game 0 - 2.  Avanza had not allowed a goal during all of Redwood Jr Spring 2007 season and even the rest of this tournament (eight months).  Azzuri went on a scoring bings recording three goals in the last 10 minutes of the first half to go up on top 3 - 2!  Azzuri then scored another goal to start the second half and won eventually 4 - 3. 

 

Surprisingly, Azzuri then lost the second game 0 - 2 to the Elk Grove Storm.  This loss marked the first one for Azzuri as a team and it came after eight months.  Quite an accomplishment.

 

Azzuri bounced back nicely to win against LYSL Livermore Storm 4 - 0.   

 

Azzuri knew they needed to edge Elk Grove Storm in total points by winning and scoring three goals in their final game against the Burlingame Crushers.  Azzuri did just that by winning 3 - 1. 

 

Therefore, Azzuri finished in first place and won the SBTB tournament.
