The Azzuri offense controlled almost all the action in this matchup at Willow Glen High School, outshooting the CV Wanderers (in an Azzuri "home game"), 15-5, but could not find the back of the nets, resulting in a 0-0 tie. The Ladies in Blue remained undefeated in Spring D2 action, moving to a 5-0-1 record.  

The Azzuri midfield controlled the game, limiting the CV Wanderers (CVW) to only a few opportunities in the Azzuri backfield (including only 1 shot in the second half), but the Azzuri offense was stifled on a number of occasions (as CVW essentially put 8 defenders in their backfield). The Ladies in Blue put constant pressure on CVW as evidenced by the CVW Goalie's 23 goal kicks in the second half...Wind-aided in the second half, the Azzuri outshot CVW 11-1, had three corners, and a number of passes that just missed the mark deep in CVW territory. The CVW keeper made some great saves (10 overall and 9 in the second half) and kept the Azzuri off the scoreboard.

It was the 5th consecutive D2 Spring league shutout for the Azzuri defense, and Lauren, with another great effort from her Secretaries of Defense, recorded her 25th Azzuri career shutout, 17th in league play (fall or spring, incl NorCal Premier).
