Although short five of its players including in the goal keeper position, Azzuri performed well in San Francisco Cup tournamnet and posted a 1 - 1 - 1 record.  The first game against AJAX ELITE 97G was competitive with Ajax scoring the first two goals one on a bad bounce in front of the goal that caught the GK by surprise.    Azzuri pulled within a goal in the second half to make it 1 - 2 and continued to attack and take shots on goal but the Ajax defense held tough.  Ajax eventually scored the last minutes to put the game out of reach 1 - 3.  Azzuri bounced back against Bay Oaks Breakerz scoring first and mounting many attacks but the Breakerz played a valiant defense.  The Breakerz eventually scored the last second of the game on a deflection from outside the box that sailed over the GK head and the game ended 1 - 1.  Azzuri bounced back in their Sunday game against San Ramon Bellazzurre.  They started the game by moving the ball and taking many shots on goal.  The Azzuri defense was tough all game and hardly allowed any shots on goal the whole game.  The 2nd half Azzuri continued their improved passing and finally scored to start the second half.  Azzuri then scored their 2nd goal and continued to dominate the game the rest of the way.

 

A very respectable showing by Azzuri on Memorial Day weekend.
