The Azzuri offense controlled almost all the action in this matchup at Port Royal Park, outshooting the Peninsula Fusion, 24-3, and remained undefeated in Spring D2 action, winning 2-0.  The Azzuri midfield controlled the game, limiting the Fusion to only a few opportunities in the Azzuri backfield, and the offense put up 11 shots in the first half and 13 more in the second half, finding the nets twice. The Ladies in White put constant pressure on a Fusion defense that was stacked in the back to begin with and Soha found the back of the nets twice, once in each half, to push the Azzuri to their 5-0 start in D2 Spring action... Despite coming into the contest with an 0-4 record, the Fusion had only allowed 6 goals this season (1.5 per game) playing strictly a defensive game.

It was the 4th consecutive D2 Spring league shutout for the Azzuri defense, and Lauren, with another great effort from her Secretaries of Defense, recorded her 23nd Azzuri career shutout, 15th in league play (fall or spring, incl NorCal Premier).
